There’s a reason Yorkshire is now home to an annual race on the international elite calendar, as highlighted by the Tour de France Grand Depart 2014 we’ve got some stunning and testing roads.
The now celebrated Tour de Yorkshire has picked up the baton and continues to prove what a great region it is for road cycling with all years having come through North Yorkshire and within a Strava segment or two of the Yorkshire Cycle Hub. With breath-taking views and miles of moor roads to get the heart rate going what’s not to enjoy – well some of you might not enjoy the steeper climbs like Chimney Bank but don’t worry there’s some more rolling terrain as well.
Located away from the traffic congested towns and cities we are ideally placed to use as a base to head out on a short loop or all day epic with the café on hand giving you something to look forward to at the end of your ride. Alternatively we are a great mid ride stop off point for those venturing onto the moors from surrounding areas to get great coffee and cake for the homeward journey.
We love riding around on the North York Moors near the Cycle Hub and have put together some recommended routes. You can download some GPX files below, and view Google Maps of the routes, we also utilise the Ordnance Survey mapping software and have lots of routes for you to discover saved onto their site.
